Coles County Clash
The annual Coles County Clash is October 7th at EIU O'Brien Field. Tickets are $5 and available for purchase in the MHS Athletic Office Monday-Friday from 8AM-3PM.
Tackle Hunger at the Clash
The Coles County Clash is the Tackle Hunger game of the week with WCIA and the Eastern Illinois Foodbank.
This is friendly competition to see which school can raise the most money - all donations stay local and will benefit the Eastern Illinois Foodbank. Donation totals will be announced during the Friday Football Fever on WCIA News at 10pm on Friday (10/7).
We are collecting food and funds leading up to the game and AT the game. Bring your donation to the game and drop it off with the student volunteers at the gate. If you can't make the game, you can donate now online with this link. Pull down to chose Mattoon as the school your donation is supporting!
Thank you for your donations and helping us tackle hunger!

EIU Scholarship
EIU is excited to once again offer a scholarship at this year's Coles County Clash - an awesome event with a rich tradition of competition and community.
The $2,000 scholarship drawing will only be open to seniors from Mattoon and Charleston High School, and the winners, one from each school, will be announced Friday evening, October 7, during halftime of the football game.
The scholarship drawing at the Football game on Friday, October 7th, will be the easiest scholarship drawing that students will ever enter.
All any student has to do is apply to EIU by Thursday, October 6. The application only takes about 20 minutes and is completely free, test scores optional, and no essays required! Use the link below for any interested students.
If a student has already applied to EIU, they don't need to do anything - they'll automatically be entered into the scholarship drawing!
