Charisma Zike, pictured left, was named battalion commander of Mattoon High School’s JROTC program.  Zike was named battalion commander at the JROTC’s annual awards ceremony May 9, 2019. Also pictured are Major Douglas Peterson, pictured center, who oversees the JROTC program and Elisha Lunsford, pictured right, who served as battalion commander during the 2018-2019 school year and passed the command to Zike during the awards ceremony.
