Mattoon Rotary recognizes one Senior male and female at their monthly luncheon as Students of the Month.
Students are nominated by MHS staff and the selection criteria includes outstanding academic achievement and citizenship. Rotary Student of the Month January winners are Noah Lange and Hallee Perry.
Noah is the son of Jenny and Kevin Lange. He participates in Golf, Tennis and NHS. After high school, Noah plans to attend Concordia University in Wisconsin. Noah plans to pursue an environmental studies degree while participating in the Air Force ROTC.
Hallee is the daughter of Raif and Tracey Perry. At MHS she has participated in 3 years of Cross Country and Softball all four years. Hallee is a member of Student Council and Key Club. Along with Student Council, she is the Vice President of the Senior Class. Hallee is also the treasurer of Key Club. During her Junior year, she was a part of B.I.O.N.I.C freshman Mentoring and Tutor team. Senior year, Hallee has been a member of the B.I.O.N.I.C Transfer and Tutor teams. After graduation, Hallee plans to attend Parkland to continue her academic and sports career. Hallee will be playing softball while doing her Gen Eds and pre-reqs for nursing school. After Parkland, her plans are to pursue an Associates degree in Nursing and her end goal is to be a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)
