Four Mattoon Middle School chorus students had the honor of representing their school at the Illinois Music Education Association (ILMEA) All-State Music Festival on Saturday, February 1st.

Seventh-grade student Wren Kinkley was selected for the inaugural Junior High All-State Chorus, a prestigious ensemble featuring just 150 students from across the state. Thousands of students auditioned for the honor, and Wren’s selection highlights their dedication and talent. Under the direction of Dr. Bridget Sweet, the ensemble performed five selections at the festival.

In addition, sixth-grade students Helen Rardin, Adalyn Young and Charlotte Compton were nominated for the 6th Grade All-State Chorus. This ensemble, led by Lauren Southard, performed three selections as part of the event.

Mattoon Middle School celebrates the hard work and dedication of these students and congratulates them on this outstanding achievement.
