Mattoon High School senior Rick Wright placed third in Engineering Graphics in the State Finals of the Academic Challenge in Engineering and Science. Rick earned a score of 26 on the Engineering Graphics exam. St. Viator High School’s Christopher Rapala scored a 31 to take first place. Rick had previously placed first in the Lake Land Regional and second in the EIU Sectional in Engineering Graphics. He is the first State Finals award winner at MHS during my five years of coaching here, said Brendan Aydt.
