Laura Roberts, graphic communication instructor, Mattoon High School, pictured right, presents Abby Carter (pictured virtually) and Abby’s parents, Sara and Greg Carter, with Abby’s gold medal for graphic imaging sublimation Abby received at the SkillsUSA national competition last spring. Carter designed a license plate, tile, cutting board and shirt. Carter just graduated from Mattoon High School last May and is now attending Northern Illinois University. The presentation was made during the Sept. 14, 2021 school board meeting. Roberts was proud of Abby’s accomplishments and added her talents have been recognized nationally.
Carter also designed the T-shirts for MHS staff that are modeled by Scott Wattles and Karl Rabe.
