Riddle Elementary School had a great first eight days of school, learning about expectations throughout each area in the building and how they can practice the 7 habits! We even had a few superhero’s welcome us on Friday! 🦸♂️

The most recent Birth-3 Playgroup was a blast from the past... the DINOSAUR PAST! The group met at Cunningham Park, and it was a beautiful day. The kids participated in a dino hunt, read "How Do Dinosaurs Go to School" worked on fine and gross motor skills, and every child went home with a dinosaur hat and a tiny dinosaur!
The Birth-3 Program is a completely free program that offers in-home visits each month, monthly family nights, monthly playgroups, and quarterly parent education events. For more information about this program please call 217-238-8900.

In preparation of the repair on the replacement part for the compressor cooling at Williams, Williams Elementary School will dismiss at 12:30 p.m. on both Thursday, August 24th and Friday, August 25th. This is for Williams Elementary School ONLY.
Parents and guardians have been contacted with further details concerning dismissal.
Our primary concern is for the health and safety of our students and staff. The air conditioning at Williams has been functioning at 70% this week. Due to increasing temperatures and the continued delay in the replacement part, we believe early dismissals are the best course of action at this time. We hope this allows ample time for families to plan in advance.
Thank you for your continued understanding and support.

The 27th Annual Wavette Dance Camp returns to MHS Saturday, August 26th from 12:30-2:00 p.m. Each child will be taught by a group of high school dancers and invited to perform with the team during Relay for Life on August 26th and at the September 1st home football game. 👯♀️🏈
This camp is for Pre-K to 5th Grade students. $20 per dancer. The registration form can be found with the link below. 👇

Mr. Mann invites all interested 5th-grade students and their families to our official Elementary Band Sign-Up Night on Thursday, August 24, beginning at 5:30 pm in the Williams Elementary Cafeteria. While a packet of information will be sent home to interested students, we will use the meeting to discuss the band program and class benefits/expectations, view a presentation by The Music Shoppe regarding instrument rentals and their services, and officially sign your student up for band class. If you have any questions or are unable to attend the meeting but wish to sign your student up for band, please reach out to Mr. Mann at alekmann@mcusd2.com.
