IT'S BACK! The Mattoon Middle School will be doing its drive-through Winter Wonderland display again this year on December 15th! Surprises from the Industrial Tech Class to the first 300 kids, cookies made by the FACS class, and performances by the MMS Choir. Save the date!
The MMS band is selling trash bags to help fund raise for their Spring trip. There are four different sizes and checks can be written to the MMS band. Orders must be turned in by Friday (December 9th).
The MMS Band & Choir Christmas concert is scheduled for next tomorrow (Tuesday, December 6th) at 6:30 PM. Band students need to be at the school by 6:00 pm.
The Mattoon Middle School Student Council recently teamed up with the Charleston Middle School Student Council to raise money for Three Oaks Middle School in Ft. Myers, FL as they were displaced by the hurricane. We are so proud of their partnership and work on this!

Riddle Elementary will be hosting its 2nd annual penguin patch holiday shop.
More information will be coming home soon to families.
Students will be secretly shopping for family and friends DURING the school day with their teachers. It is a great excuse to encourage your child to earn their shopping money by doing some chores at home.
Here are a few ideas on how they can earn money to shop: Make their bed, help bring in the groceries, help a sibling with a project, feed the dog or assist grandparents with chores.

Riddle PTA recently took 73 students on a field trip to Elevate in Champaign. Those students sold enough Fannie May items during the Fall fundraiser to qualify for the trip. They also enjoyed pizza and a drink while they were there.

Franklin Preschool is collecting cleaning supplies for One Stop Community Christmas through the end of the week (December 2nd).
Ideal donation items: Gloves, sponges, dish soap, laundry detergent, Lysol, Windex, mops, buckets, etc.
Students who donate will receive a coupon for a frozen treat to a local eatery- limit one per child!

These students had to submit an audition video in early October. Being selected for the District 5 Festival is one of the highest achievements for a high school musician. The District 5 Festival was Saturday, November 19th in the Doudna Fine Arts Center at Easter Illinois University.

Ms. Ames and Mrs. Hoenes' 3rd grade classes at Williams Elementary recently read "Balloons Over Broadway". The book is about the Macy's Thanksgiving day parade. The students then designed and created their own "balloons" for our very own "Famous Amous Parade" through the office.

Congrats to the MMS 7th grade Basketball girls on winning the first round of the IESA 7-4A Regionals on Saturday! They defeated Charleston 28-5. They play again tomorrow (11/22), at 6pm against the #1 seed Mt Zion in the second round of play. Best of luck girls!
