Just a day in the life of a Birth to 3 Home Visitor! Miss Hannah worked on introducing early math skills with Paisley and her mom, Amanda last week. Together, they started by sorting various pom poms by color. Then, Paisley was able to graph each color by size, going from biggest to smallest. After the graph was made, Paisley counted how many there were of each color. This simple activity provided parent-child interaction, while promoting the early math skills of color identification, graphing, counting, and categorizing. We love having Paisley and her mom in our program! #MCUSD2 #Mattoon #Birthto3 #FranklinPreK

Mrs. Campbell's students at MMS learned about Greek City-states, Sparta and Athens. Sparta was a warlike city-state that prized courage and obedience above all else. Athens prized the mind and education. Then they chose which one they wanted to "live in." For the next two weeks, they engaged in feats of knowledge and strength to earn points for their city-state. They did a strength challenge between the Spartans and Athenians. They showed their skills doing push-ups, sit-ups, and arm wrestling. Spartans earned the most points and won our Peloponnesian War! Oddly enough, the Spartans won the ACTUAL Peloponnesian War too. #MCUSD2 #Mattoon #MMS
