*WIGs Wednesday*
Meet Locklyn Thacker from Riddle Elementary. Locklyn is a fifth-grader in Mrs. Oberhill's class. Her personal WIG (Wildly Important Goal) is reading numbers with decimals. Locklyn says that decimals were very confusing at first. She told herself, 'You CAN do this," and she decided to practice place value with her dad as part of her action plan to achieve her goal. Locklyn worked at school and home while tracking her progress on DreamBox. After achieving her WIG, she says that the feeling of success is worth all of the hard work. When Locklyn isn't crushing her goals, she enjoys reading mysteries, playing with Barbies, and doing front flips on her trampoline. Mrs. Oberhill says, "Locklyn has done a great job demonstrating growth in Habit 3 (Beginning with the End in Mind.) As an almost sixth-grader, she prioritizes before allowing herself to get distracted by less important tasks." Way to go, Locklyn!

Back from Spring Break today and there was a creative space open to students at MMS in the media center. They worked on comic book magnets to decorate the library. How cool are these!?
MMS plans to have a DIY space set up with a new project every other week. The next one will be homemade Chinese finger traps. Students will get to keep all their projects!

Transportation Director Chris Parr recently went to Building Blocks Daycare and read the kids a story about a school bus. He also took them out to one of our school buses and showed them how to get on and off a school bus safely and how to sit properly. They enjoyed singing "The Wheels on the Bus" together. Big thanks to Chris for the safety training and fun!

This is Xayden Enloe. He is a 3rd Grader in Lisa DiNaso’s Class at Williams Elementary. His WIG (Wildly Important Goal) is adding 2 digit numbers. He has worked very hard all year and has mastered this skill! He has done extra daily practice with number lines and hundreds charts to increase his problem-solving skills. When he isn’t tackling 2-digit Math problems, he enjoys camping and playing Lego City on his Nintendo Switch. Xayden is a very responsible student that is also great at being a leader in the classroom. His teachers Mrs. DiNaso and Mrs. Tharp are super proud of him!
