Mattoon CUSD #2 will be selling the current MHS Greenhouse (However, we will be building another greenhouse within one of the MHS courtyards in addition to building a newer, slightly smaller greenhouse at MMS too for students to use)
We will be conducting a sealed bid opening at 10 a.m. on March 1st at the board office. We are currently using the greenhouse as part of the woodshop program through May 9th. The new owners will have from May 9th until June 1st to dismantle and remove from the property. District items that will be removed from the Greenhouse are as follows:
1. Removal of the Aquatics
2. Two Heaters
3. Lights and Ballast
4. Timers
5. Unhook the gas and electric
All conduit and anything else that may be hanging from or attached to the frame will have to be cut away by the NEW OWNER in the removal process. It can be piled up and we will discard it, but we will not be removing anything other than what’s stated above.
PLEASE NOTE: Bidders MUST provide a certificate of insurance and Mattoon CUSD needs to be added as additional insured. THIS MUST BE PRESENTED WITH YOUR BID ON MARCH 1ST OR BID WILL NOT BE COUNTED.
Please call for Dustin Stoltzfus at 217-238-8850 with any questions or to schedule a site visit.
