Mattoon Community Unit School District #2 recognized its retirees at the annual retirement breakfast on May 24, 2023 at Riddle Elementary School. School board members Dale Righter, Ashli Overton, and John Hedges attended to present awards to the 11 retirees who attended the breakfast.
Superintendent Tim Condron served as master of ceremonies. The retirees were given the opportunity to share their memories of their years at Mattoon and a video (shown below) was created in their honor. The full list of 12 retirees included Duane Bushue (Head Custodian, MHS), Sheila Cobb (Secretary AP/AR, ASC), Jack Greene (Custodian, Williams Elementary), Pam Heaton (Supervisor, MHS), Krista Jackley (School Counselor, MHS), Molly Masulis (Teacher, Williams Elementary), Patrick Powers (Bus Driver), Tami Sanders (Special Education Teacher, MHS), Debbie Seaman (Teacher, MMS), Yvonne Steward (Bus Driver), Mickie Wamsley (Paraprofessional, Riddle Elementary), and the late Michael Benslay (Bus Driver).
