Mattoon High School has partnered with the Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) to assist students, parents, and guardians in completing their FAFSA. Completing the FAFSA is a graduation requirement.
The event is scheduled for Monday, December 16th from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the MHS Cafeteria. Refreshments will be available. This is a workshop opportunity to get your questions answered as you complete the FAFSA on-site.
To help prepare for the event, you can create your FSA ID now. FSA ID’s must be created 1-3 days before completing the FAFSA.

Items needed to complete the FAFSA on Monday, December 16th:
An electronic device (Chromebook or laptop) to sign into the FAFSA online
2023 Federal tax returns, W-2’s, and other records of money earned
Banking statements and records of investments (if applicable)
Records of untaxed income (if applicable)
List of colleges you would like to attend
Additional information you will need to you are complete the FAFSA:
Social Security number. Be sure it is correct!
Your Alien Registration Number, if you (student) are not a US Citizen
And FSA ID
If you do not plan to complete the FAFSA, you must complete the Non-Participation Form, which is available online now. Students and/or parents who choose to not complete either the FAFSA or the Alternative Application may complete the Financial Aid Application Non-Participation Form online via ISAC's Student Portal. A student and/or parent will need a Student Portal account to complete and sign the Non-Participation Form.
