Mattoon Rotary recognizes one Senior male and female at their monthly luncheon as Students of the Month.
Students are nominated by MHS staff and the selection criteria include outstanding academic achievement and citizenship. Rotary Students of the Month for January winners are Malehki Norton and Aylexis Otto.
Malehki is the son of Charlene Norton. He has been employed at The Original Burger King for two years learning many skills. He has worked his way up and takes pride in being one of the top grillers at the location. Malehki’s commitment to quality and efficiency has helped him develop a strong work ethic and the ability to thrive in a fast paced environment.
Aylexis Otto is the daughter of Rick and Tomi Otto. She is on the MHS Basketball, and Softball teams. Aylexis is the communications director for Student Council and is also a member of NHS, BIONIC, LIFT Leadership and the LEAD team at LIFT.
In the fall Aylexis will attend Greenville University to play softball and plans to pursue a degree in Forensics.
MHS is incredibly proud of these students' achievements and contributions. Congratulations once again, Malehki and Aylexis!
