A "before" and "after" showcasing the project that Mr. Gibson's Wave Time class at MHS worked on this past semester. They updated a “nook” in the 600 Hallway to become a place students can sit and work. Students painted and added LED lights, a custom-made seat cushion, and decorative pillows. They also installed lap tables on the walls that students can pull out for use.

Mr. Wheeler's 4th-grade students at Riddle Elementary joined a live event on Storyvoice this month with author Ryan Higgins. The author read his work aloud and taught the students how to draw Bruce the bear. The students were thrilled when a producer let them know that their class was randomly selected to ask questions to the author live on mic! In response to their question, they found out that Ryan Higgins's favorite childhood book was Calvin and Hobbes. The students enjoyed the live lesson!

Ms. McCoy's class at Williams Elementary recently completed a project to help out the graduating seniors at MHS. They were contacted by the Project Graduation Committee and asked if they would like to help out with a special project. They worked together to decorate and stuff 160 envelopes for graduates that attend Project Graduation. The class was asked to stuff each envelope with 100 "Project Graduation Dollars". However, students thought the envelopes were a little "boring" and wanted to jazz it up a bit. Therefore, each envelope, all 160, have been decorated with many colors and a positive message! The class believed that the seniors have worked hard and they should know how proud the younger students are as they "play" all the fun games at Project Graduation that night.

Riddle Elementary School recently had a very productive book fair. The BOGO fair allowed students and families double the merchandise. Cops for Kids from the Mattoon Police Department donated $500 toward getting books in students' hands. This was about 140 books! Riddle also partnered with One Stop Community Christmas. Families had the option of donating a new book, making a monetary donation, or rounding up their purchase for this cause. Through the generous contributions of book fair customers, Riddle was able to donate 89 books for One Stop Community Christmas! Riddle Library will get to spend about $800 on Scholastic Merchandise for the library and its programming. Thank you to all our Riddle families for supporting the book fair.
