In a great partnership designed to develop student leadership, MCUSD2 coaches are teaching facilitation skills and guidance while EIU staff trains the student leaders with specific technology content. Nate Carlson, Digital Literacy Coordinator with the Illinois Broadband READY Progamming at Eastern Illinois University, leads students through a discussion of digital permanence and how it has a long-term impact.
Building Technology Coaches like Shad Huddleston, pictured, coach these teams of student leaders. The End in Mind is for the teams to facilitate technology tips and assist in a Chrome Depot to help serve their peers’ tech needs.
Over 200 elementary students submitted applications for these leadership roles. The technology teams are the first of many opportunities for students to formally lead in an area of interest and need.
